| Description: | The summer intern will be responsible for preparing individual articles and entire issues as downloadable pdfs for The Artist's Magazine, The Pastel Journal, and Watercolor Artist. The intern will add new content to our site daily. He/she will help with the correspondence pertaining to three contests (The Pastel 100, Watermedia Showcase, The Artist's Magazine's Annual Competition); he/she will help notify the winners, file contracts, proofread copy, check facts, etc. The intern will participate in the judging process, as well. He/she will help with the administrative tasks pertaining to the launch of a new magazine, Acrylic. The intern will help with the correspondence, the filing of contracts, proofreading of articles, etc. Once the magazine Acrylic has gone to press, the intern will be responsible for posting a large number of supplementary articles as downloadable pdfs on our site. The intern will flow copy into InDesign templates and assist with fact checking for TAM's Supply Cabinet and Ask the Experts columns. The intern will open, distribute, and organize the great volume of mail the art magazines' editors receive. |
| Requirements: | The intern should be familiar with computer systems and eager to learn more; he/she should have pleasant phone manners and good communication skills. He/she should be adaptable and curious; he/she should be enthusiastic and easy to get along with, willing to pitch in--as he/she will be part of a very busy, but very companionable team. Furthermore, the intern should be in his/her junior or senior year in the English or Journalism undergraduate study.
