| Description: | Produce heavily illustrated fine art, pop art/culture and comic instruction products approved by Pub Board under guidance from acquisitions editor/managing editor/editor and/or senior editors on staff. Overall point person for products for which he or she has been assigned. Contact person for the author, sales and marketing, e-commerce, art department and production department, as well as for freelancers working on projects • Manage authors at work by reviewing submissions; resolving problems; editing text and art; producing outlines/table of contents, page plans, thumbnails and dummies. • Work with the fine art trade books editorial team, production staff, designers and marketing staff as quality control from contract signing to the printer. Follow schedules for assigned projects established by the Managing Editor. Make sure that the finished products are what the company intended. • Identify and solve problems related to product development and production • Edit materials to determine what is appropriate for projects. May require guidance from acquisitions, editor, etc. • Guide projects through the production process, overseeing freelance copyeditors, indexers and proofreaders • Production edit and deliver 5-7 projects to Prepress per year • Obtain 5-7 new projects per year for development and content edit • Prepare sales and marketing materials including but not limited to BLADs and TI sheets; update PI sheet •As needed, write/develop copy and content for websites and e-newsletters, research and develop Web content, project manage development of audiovisual materials • Contribute to social media platforms including but not limited to company websites and forums. Facebook, Twitter, etc. |
