The Editorial assistant/books summer intern will assist North Light Books, Fine Art and IMPACT Books editorial staff in creation of print and digital product. Through the essential duties and responsibilities, he or she will participate in an introduction to screening, hiring and reviewing freelancer work, working in InDesign thumbnails and digital art, reviewing indexes, introduction to the art of author communication and soft editing, introduction to the manuscript before the book, learning the difference between copyediting and proofreading, creating pdf books and products, introduction to copywriting, sales copy and marketing, thinking as “the reader” or “the user,” the importance of teamwork, immersion in real world workflow.
