| Description: | Adams Media is seeking an Associate Designer to join our design team. We’re looking for a designer who excels in layout, including catalog interiors, book covers, and marketing materials, and is experienced in pre-press fundamentals. Candidate must have an eye for detail and be self-motivated, deadline driven, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Layout of four 4 color catalogs per year. Catalog breakdown: Two-200(+/-) pages; Two 100(+/-) pages. • Design sales sheets, web banners, postcards, trade magazine advertisements, and other marketing collateral • Design trade show materials and signage • Dummy/mock up creation of books for sales team and trade shows • Assist designers with back cover layouts, scanning, art research |
| Requirements: | Required Skills and Experience: • Must have InDesign experience and have worked with long documents and style sheets • Able to meet stringent deadlines • Adaptable to changing priorities • 1-3 years of design experience preferably in catalog production or interior book layout • Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop • Skilled in typography, layout, color theory • Strong digital and/or hand illustration skills preferred • Ability to work independently as well as within a team • Conceptually understand visual hierarchy • Bachelors Degree in Art or related equivalent • Web design experience a plus (Dreamweaver, Flash) If you are interested in applying for this position, please e-mail your cover letter, resume, design samples, and salary requirements to: careers2@fwmedia.com.
